Radiofrequency-assisted treatment may be an option for selected concerns involving fat and skin laxity. Learn where FaceTite or BodyTite fits—and when a surgical lift may better address your goals.

FaceTite and BodyTite use radiofrequency-assisted treatment for selected fat and tissue-laxity concerns. These procedures involve access beneath the skin and are not the same as surface-only skin treatments. More extensive loose skin may require surgical removal.

Overview / FaceTite & BodyTite

What Are FaceTite and BodyTite?

FaceTite and BodyTite are minimally invasive contouring treatments that use radiofrequency energy to heat tissue beneath the skin. This controlled heating can help contract soft tissue, improve mild to moderate laxity, and assist with fat reduction in targeted areas.

The technology uses a small internal probe placed beneath the skin and an external electrode that moves along the surface. Together, these components deliver radiofrequency energy in a controlled way. The internal energy helps treat deeper tissue, while the external component monitors and helps control heating at the skin surface.

For appropriate patients, FaceTite and BodyTite may help improve areas where the skin is beginning to loosen but has not reached the point where a larger skin-removal procedure is required. These treatments are especially useful for patients who want contour improvement but are not ready for long incisions, more extensive downtime, or a traditional surgical lift.

FaceTite and BodyTite are not replacements for every surgical procedure. Patients with more advanced skin laxity, heavy hanging skin, significant tissue descent, or major post-weight-loss skin excess may still be better candidates for surgical options. During consultation, Dr. Candis Lovelace will help determine whether a minimally invasive option is realistic for your goals.

Candidates / FaceTite & BodyTite

Am I a Good Candidate for FaceTite or BodyTite?

The best candidates for FaceTite or BodyTite are generally healthy patients who have mild to moderate skin laxity, localized fat, and realistic expectations about what minimally invasive contouring can achieve.

  • Have mild to moderate loose skin
  • Have localized fat in the treatment area
  • Want improvement without a more invasive lifting procedure
  • Are at or near a stable weight
  • Have good overall health
  • Do not smoke or are willing to stop before treatment
  • Understand that results develop gradually
  • Have realistic expectations about tightening and contour improvement
  • Want more improvement than non-invasive treatments may provide

FaceTite and BodyTite may not be recommended for patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding, actively losing weight, or better suited for a surgical skin removal procedure. Dr. Lovelace will review your health history, medications, skin quality, and goals before recommending treatment.

Patients may be advised to avoid smoking, alcohol, blood-thinning medications, and certain supplements before treatment. Do not stop prescribed medications unless directed by the physician who manages them.

A consultation can help determine whether your skin laxity and contour concerns are best treated with FaceTite, BodyTite, liposuction, or surgery.

Let’s talk

Procedure / FaceTite & BodyTite

What Happens During FaceTite Treatment?

FaceTite is typically performed using local anesthesia with sedation or another anesthesia plan based on the treatment area and patient needs. Small entry points are made, and the FaceTite handpiece delivers radiofrequency energy beneath the skin while controlled heating occurs from the surface.

The RF energy helps address small areas of fat while heating the surrounding tissue to encourage tightening. The goal is to improve contour and definition in areas such as the jawline, lower face, and neck.

After treatment, patients can expect swelling, bruising, tenderness, and temporary tightness. Compression or facial support garments may be recommended depending on the area treated.

Because FaceTite uses small entry points rather than facelift incisions, downtime is generally shorter than traditional facial surgery. However, swelling and firmness can still take time to resolve, and results continue developing gradually.

Recovery / FaceTite & BodyTite

Recovery and Aftercare

Recovery after FaceTite and BodyTite is generally shorter than recovery after larger surgical procedures, but patients should still expect swelling, bruising, tenderness, and temporary activity restrictions.

First Few Days

Mild discomfort, swelling, bruising, and tenderness are expected. Patients may be advised to wear compression garments or facial support garments depending on the treatment area. Light walking is usually encouraged, but strenuous activity should be avoided.

One to Two Weeks

Many patients return to light daily activities. Swelling usually begins improving, although firmness or tightness may persist. Bruising may still be visible, depending on the area treated and whether liposuction was performed.

Two to Three Weeks

More strenuous activity may gradually resume with Dr. Lovelace’s approval. Compression garments may still be recommended depending on the treatment plan. Patients should continue following all aftercare instructions even if they feel ready to do more.

Several Months

Results continue to refine as swelling improves and tissue tightening progresses. Final results may continue developing for six months or longer as the treated tissue remodels and settles.

We recommend following all aftercare instructions carefully, including compression use, activity restrictions, incision care, and follow-up appointments.

Dr. Lovelace can explain expected recovery, compression garment use, and when you may return to normal activity based on your treatment area.

Planning / FaceTite & BodyTite

FaceTite and BodyTite vs. Liposuction

Many patients ask whether they need FaceTite, BodyTite, or liposuction. The answer depends on how much fat is present, how much skin laxity exists, and how much tightening is needed.

  • Liposuction: Removes localized fat but does not significantly tighten loose skin.
  • FaceTite and BodyTite: Use radiofrequency energy to assist with fat reduction while also tightening tissue.
  • Surgical skin removal: May be better when there is significant loose, hanging, or stretched skin.

For patients with good skin elasticity and isolated fat, liposuction alone may be appropriate. For patients with mild to moderate laxity, BodyTite or FaceTite may provide a better match. For patients with more substantial loose skin, Dr. Lovelace may recommend a surgical procedure instead.

Risks and Considerations

Like all procedures, FaceTite and BodyTite involve risks and limitations. These are reviewed during consultation so patients understand what treatment can and cannot achieve.

  • Swelling and bruising
  • Tenderness or discomfort
  • Temporary numbness or sensation changes
  • Firmness during healing
  • Contour irregularity
  • Burns or thermal injury
  • Infection
  • Scarring at entry points
  • Asymmetry
  • Loose skin that does not tighten enough
  • Need for additional treatment or surgery

Choosing the right candidate and setting realistic expectations are important. Patients with more advanced loose skin may need a surgical lift for the best result. Dr. Lovelace will explain the risks that apply to your treatment area and help you decide whether the benefits match your goals.

How Much Do FaceTite and BodyTite Cost?

The cost of FaceTite or BodyTite in Fort Worth depends on the treatment area, number of areas treated, anesthesia plan, procedure time, and whether liposuction or additional procedures are included.

Because every treatment plan is customized, New Leaf Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery provides personalized pricing after consultation. Dr. Lovelace will explain what is recommended and why so you can make an informed decision.

  • Whether FaceTite, BodyTite, or both are performed
  • The number of treatment areas
  • The size of the treatment area
  • Whether liposuction is included
  • Anesthesia requirements
  • Procedure complexity
  • Facility and recovery needs

During consultation, the team can review your personalized quote and available payment options.

What Results Can You Expect?

FaceTite and BodyTite results develop gradually. Some patients notice early improvement as swelling decreases, but final results usually continue to improve over several months as tissue remodeling and tightening progress.

  • Improved jawline or neck definition with FaceTite
  • Reduced fullness in targeted areas
  • Tighter skin in selected treatment zones
  • Improved body contour with BodyTite
  • Smoother transitions between treated and untreated areas
  • A more refined appearance without traditional lift incisions
  • Improved confidence in clothing or profile photos

Results vary depending on skin quality, treatment area, age, weight stability, and how the body responds to radiofrequency-assisted treatment. Maintaining a stable weight and healthy lifestyle can help support long-term results.

Patients should understand that FaceTite and BodyTite create improvement, not perfection. The degree of tightening is more limited than surgical skin removal. For the right candidate, however, the improvement can be meaningful without the longer scars or recovery associated with more invasive procedures.
